Company Profile Kinney Recruiting is a leading provider of legal recruiting and attorney placement services in every market we serve. We know of no recruiting firm anywhere that has more consistently connected attorneys with jobs than have we. What is our secret? We are superior legal recruiters for several principal reasons:

1. We operate as a team and under the principal that bigger is not necessarily better when it comes to legal recruiting. While research and market knowledge are very important and can be shared between recruiters efficiently in firms of a certain size, legal recruiting firms reach critical mass very quickly. Then they often become little more than a collection of individuals who rarely share market insight and knowledge willingly with each other. Most of us turned down offers to work for our larger competitors for this reason alone.

2. Our focus is candidate-centric. Our belief is that we do both our clients and our candidates the greatest service by working with the largest possible number of legal employers. In this way, we are able to provide unbiased advice to every candidate we help. Candidates know that we push no one into a position that is not right for him or her, and employers know to take our candidates seriously because we would not bring unsuitable candidates to their attention. We hear from our clients almost daily that they are eager to see any candidate we put forward because they know that there will be a fit in that case, and we zealously guard that reputation.

3. We are relatively young and energetic - our company has not reached (and will never reach) the stage where our founders are looking for an exit strategy. Legal recruiting is our life. Some of our competitors' unrestrained growth in recent years is easily explained by a need to fund retirement for the companies' owners. We intend to be in this business for decades and we know we can not afford to leave a single negative impression on anyone because of this.

4. Our legal recruiting roots are in Texas and our employer network in Texas is very deep, but we also have a very strong understanding and make an unusually large number of placements in the other markets where we work: New York, Florida, Southern California, and Asia. We have offices in New York, South Florida, and Hong Kong where we recruit attorneys for our clients every day.

5. Each of our recruiters is a former attorney with "Big Firm" credentials and experience, so we understand where our candidates are coming from and how the choices they make will affect where they are going. We have had cases in which clients literally have tried to hire us to fill the positions we were trying to fill. Not many legal recruiters can say this.

6. We are supported by technology and research unsurpassed by any other recruiting firm. A large part of our budget is spent on research assistance and technology to assist us in our searches.

7. We are active members of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants and we regularly refer our candidates to reputable members of this organization when our assessment is that one of the other NALSC members is more suitable to complete the search in question. Most "large" recruiting firms have written or unwritten policies against referrals to outside recruiting firms regardless of the candidate's best interest.

8. Finally, we understand and accept that we are meant to help everyone, not just the candidates most calculated to help us earn a fee. We want everyone who comes to us to leave with the impression that we did our absolute best to help him or her in whatever way we could.
